The Practice of Place
A Slow Travel Yoga Retreat in Kerala
19-26 February 2027
A retreat built on reciprocity, rhythm and local connection in coastal Kerala.
Daily yoga practice with Pim, rooted in somatic inspired movement practices infused with devotion and wonder. Beyond just a movement practice we will explore the power of mantra, breathwork and meditation. Yoga grounds us and opens our senses so we can meet place more fully.
7 nights luxury accomodation in Varkala at Paddle Cult.
Brunch and dinner cooked onsite. Beautiful, vegetarian local cuisine prepared with love and eaten together outside.
You will get a goody bag and illustrated map of the local area to support your own exploration
I am hosting the retreat with the support of my close friend Marta, who also knows this place super well. Both of us are there to make sure your experience is epic.
A loose itinerary of outings and fun things to do together, carefully planned in harmony with place from skating and surfing to cooking & dancing under the stars. All is optional.
Join Pim on a rooted exploration of place in a small coastal town in Kerala, South India.
An invitation to slow down just enough to enter relationship with where you have landed.
Paddle Cult
Just minutes from the coast, Paddle Cult was imagined as a space where you can experience a slower, more intentional way of living. I have spent lots of time here - itās a really beautiful place.
You choose between a double room or a private poolside cottage. Weāll have the place to ourselves.
Prices start at £795
Not an escape.
More a deep dive into the beating heart of coastal Kerala.
Think temple chanting at dusk, incense floating through the warm breeze, fishermen at dawn, deep fried banana balls and steaming chai
Whatās on offer
I bring you a retreat rooted in the everyday poetry of coastal Kerala. Each morning, we rise together and gather for practice. Then, Iām collaborating with the local community in Varkala to offer you the chance to truly connect with this place. You can pick and choose throughout the week but hereās a flavour of whatās on offerā¦
-

Skating with Shrishti
Paddle Cult have literally just unveiled a newly built, oceanside community skate park. Weāll let Shrishti show us the ropes. You can give it a go or just come along for the sunset vibe and chill.

Cooking with Paaru
Paaru is one of my favourite people in Varkala. She makes a mean fresh ginger chai with so much love poured in and weāre going to gather with her one afternoon to find out her secret. Option is there to cook some local Keralan treats together too.

Surf with Paddle Cult
If you feel drawn to jumping onto a board and heading into the warm, dreamy ocean - you are in the very best hands. You can take a lesson or rent a board; Paddle Cult will whisk you to the beach in their iconic truck. Beginners so welcome, no wetsuit required and chai stop after surf absolutely essential!
